50 years ago today the world’s greatest racing driver Jim Clark was killed deeply shocking this twelve year old. But his loss also ignited a changed understanding of safety on track and road. If the very best can be lost then we need safer cars & roads not just better drivers.

April 7th 1968, the saddest day of my life. Jim Clark the greatest driver of all time was lost. No-one inspired more both with his talent on the track and his charm off it. Forever remembered.
