Also, the Knicks defeated Spurs in the final.
Knicks winning after five decades and Arsenal winning after 22 years in Mamdani’s first year as mayor. It’s time to crown him emperor for life.

Scotland’s Andy Robertson has found a hack to beat FIFA’s new throw-in countdown: Get your team-mates in position before you pick the ball up, which starts the referee’s countdown. Very smart 👏 👏 👏 #Robertson #HAISCO #Scotland

On this day in 2023, the season David Moyes was sacked for a top-half finish and European quarter-final, West Ham beat Brighton and Hove Albion 3-1 at The Amex, going top of the table. YouTuber Claret and Booze famously moaned as we scored each goal.

🚨 Arsenal have been actively working on the signing of Ayyoub Bouaddi (18) for several months. The club have clearly indicated to Bouaddi that he would be considered an important player in their project, with the player interested in the potential move. Lille want around €70m for Bouaddi, while Arsenal believe their excellent relationship with club president Olivier Letang could facilitate negotiations. Another element could be, unlike PSG - who are also interested in Bouaddi - Arsenal are NOT a direct competitor in their league. Arsenal have already scheduled further talks with Bouaddi after the World Cup & Mikel Arteta is expected to have a greater involvement in those discussions. The deal could accelerate quickly after the tournament. 🕵️‍♂️🇲🇦 [@sachatavolieri]

Ayyoub Bouaddi was the next big thing in French football. Now, that honour belongs to Morocco. What sets Bouaddi apart - and has done since breaking into senior football - is his unflappable maturity. He looks like a player that has over 500 matches to his name, and that manifests in multiple ways on the pitch. Chief among them is his physicality: he’s tall and lean with long legs that carry him effortlessly across the pitch, packing an intensity that is indicative of his elite-level credentials. Progressive ball-carrying is where he moves the needle in possession, as highlighted in @SkillCorner data, with the propensity to evade pressure before driving the ball forward into space. His leginess is a significant advantage in his ability to chase down attackers and stretch in to win the ball back. This tournament could be a launchpad for the 19-year-old. We will be there.
