ALT The funeral at Maranatha Baptist Church and the interment at the Carter residence will be private. However, the public is invited to line the motorcade route as President Carter and his family travel through his beloved Plains. Road detours will be in place during the funeral procession: Highway 280 will have a detour from approximately 2PM to 7PM (Rabbit Branch Road west of Plains to Bob Dodson Road east of Plains). Visitors can still access Hospital Street via 280. Bond Street / Highway 45 will be closed from Highway 280 north to Jack Slappy Road. Please note all times are approximate. Detour routes will be marked with signage and law enforcement assistance. Visitors wishing to view the procession can park in designated areas near Hospital Street in Plains.
