You know you’re getting older when you have to buy your own birthday caterpillar cake from @AldiUK so the kids can surprise you with it after work tomorrow

Injuries that prevent you from running suck. It’s easy to get mad and say screw training until it’s healed. Once you get over the frustration, it’s a great opportunity to build or maintain fitness with other methods. Bike, elliptical, rower, whatever the injury allows is an excellent alternative to running. It may shift expectations for your race, or cancel it all together. But that’s why endurance is a long game. There will be more opportunities after the injury.

Our generation didn't call in sick. We left the bar/club at closing time, slept for an hour, grabbed a coffee and a Marlboro Light, still smelling like a brewery, had the hand stamp to prove it, and went to work like nothing happened. We are not the same

If my hamstring tendon would just accept I'm going to run occasionally, that would be great 👍

I am in favour of Reform winning councils so everyone sees how utterly awful they are when they have to actually run things instead of just painting roundabouts and droning on about a full English.

Paris' waterfront was dedicated to cars just over 20 years ago. Now, it's one of the world's best public spaces. When we remove all of the excuses about why we can't do this or that thing, you realize how easy it is to build better cities. It's all about priorities!

HOT TAKE: Running a marathon doesn’t make you healthier than someone who runs 5K consistently. If your goal is health… you probably don’t need anything beyond 5K. Most of the real benefits—heart health, weight control, stress relief—are already there. You don’t unlock some “extra health level” at 21K or 42K. That’s where people get it twisted. Long distances aren’t about health anymore… they’re about testing yourself. Discipline. Ego. Curiosity. Limits. And that’s fine. But let’s stop pretending marathon training is the “healthier” choice. Sometimes it’s just harder… not better.

Before everyone goes crazy and buys a 500 dollar super shoe On average these shoes give you on average anywhere from 1-2.5% speed advantage. An argument can be made that these specific ones the benefit could be closer to 4% according to Adidas But that’s for the ELITE ATHLETES The average Joe would be better off increasing his mileage and especially do more strength work to improve his running economy and be less injury prone (so he can run more) Oh, losing weight also helps Buy the shoe when you’re chasing a PR at your peak fitness but build the engine first
There has never been a better pre-release ad campaign.
