From 25 years ago today (June 14, 2001), here's Dominik Hasek's final act with the Buffalo #Sabres which was winning his 6th and final Vezina Trophy. A nice mention of @martybiron43 in his acceptance speech. #LetsGoBuffalo

I think Cayde-6 said it best... "Worst case scenario, you die. But who knows, maybe you won't." Thanks for the memories, Guardians.

There has not been - and may never will be - another video game quite like Destiny. It’s reached its Final Shape. I’ll be hopping in to explore for a bit this weekend. We’re all still hoping for D3 but hey, you can’t have a comeback tour if you don’t go away for a bit.

“I voted for Cooper because he dealt with injuries” Sabres lost their 1C from last year to a blood clot, their new 1C missed half the year, had to ride 3 goalies all year bc of injury issues with UPL/Lyon, key injuries to Benson/Ostlund/Zucker, Kess had whole year derailed

Destiny 2 was not a failure. Destiny is—was—by all measures, one of the most resounding successes in its field, and its end is a consequence of its management, not the game itself, nor the team and community that propped it up time and time again, or the vision that fueled it. Destiny was a pioneer of the live-service formula. It was one of the earliest games of the 2010s to try to deliver constant goods, whether they took the form of missions, new loot rewards, or skins, to a console audience. kotaku.com/destiny-2-was-not…

It’s the first holiday weekend of the summer in Buffalo. Send in a torrential rainstorm, and a cold front with heavy winds too.

Before playing the Flames on the road in December, Rasmus Dahlin called for a team dinner to air out any issues. A 10-game winning streak immediately followed:

I’m from here & as a kid, the Sabres meant everything. For years I tried to explain that to people. This year I didn’t need to do any explaining. The team won over this city in a way that brought many of us back to better days. It was a hell of a run. Thanks for following along

I wanted to post the whole answer from Mattias Samuelsson because I thought it was very good. Great question from @JoeYerdon on what this season meant to Samuelsson personally.

Very candid and powerful from Mattias Samuelsson. He said this year brought him so much joy back into his life. Said there were times in the past where he wasn’t having fun. He added the mental hurdles were at times more difficult than the physical injuries in years past.

Longtime Sabres fans have to be feeling deja vu. Their last three overtime playoff eliminations have come on virtually the same shot. Opponent going left to right on TV. Shot from the top of the circle to the goalie's right, beating him glove slide. I'm sick.
