A corollary to my last case. 12 cm #HCC treated with resin Y90 (300 Gy MIRD, 20K spheres/mL) anti-reflux catheter. Very strong PR at 1 mo - I bet CR by 6 mo. Mild fatigue, otherwise no side effects. @SirtexMedical @TriSalusLifeSci @ucsd_ir

I have recently taken a liking to MIRD dosimetry with @SirtexMedical @TriSalusLifeSci for #TARE on large #HCC. In this case 300 Gy, 4 day pre-cal (30K spheres/ml) with impressive biochem and imaging response at 1 mo. @ucsd_ir @SIRspecialists @SIO_Central

IR’s role in lower GI bleeding is to embolize those who don’t respond to HD resuscitation (after - ahem - upper endoscopy). Not ex lap and presumptive vessel ligation.
It pains me to keep going at it like this, but we got to get this straight for the learners.
