Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has launched a process to appoint suitably qualified and experienced independent inspectors to the planning system. The appointments will enable the Department to exercise its powers under the Planning Act 2011 to allocate “Hear and Report” work to inspectors as an additional option to the Planning Appeals Commission. How to pay for NI’s overloaded, underinvested water system? The minister is consulting on an indirect levy on buyers of new build homes. Business groups suggest wider socialisation of costs. No political appetite for that. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cpqn…

I'd rather pay the £100 and get on with it. Sick of hearing about these things holding back much needed development.

Would £100 on the average annual household rates bill be a fair & sustainable way to solve NI’s water infrastructure crisis? Some business groups are floating the idea. The Infrastructure Minister is less keen - she’s consulting on a developer levy.

Loft Lines matters more than a view you only get from the M3 bridge and was never in Titanic Quarter's plan. Not just 800 professionally-managed new homes but a vital experiment in car-free city centre living, delivered through a new approach to planning. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/…
