It's heartbreaking to witness the deteriorating state of North Street and Donegall Street in Belfast. Protecting our built heritage is vitally important, and these new aerial pictures highlight the importance of doing so before it is too late...

Castlebrooke are having another roll of the dice. They’ve dropped the TriBeCa name & filed a pre-application notice for a housing-led scheme. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4g4…

Now the Sailortown Bridge needs to follow quickly behind so residents can properly connect to the city centre, Titanic Quarter and York Street Train Station on foot and by bike.
New aerial views of Loft Lines as construction progresses towards completion later this year. The development will deliver 778 apartments across 3 residential blocks, including social and affordable housing, alongside a new riverside promenade, public park and rooftop terraces

For comparison this is what the Loftlines site looked like 3 years ago before construction commenced in 2023.

The Ormeau was once again absolutely buzzing on Sunday for the marathon. Huge crowds, live music, packed pubs, cafes and restaurants. It felt more like a mini street festival, and it would be great to build on that next year.

It would create space for even more street events, live music and food stalls, make things safer for runners and spectators, and the road could reopen fully at 4:30pm as normal.

And before anyone piles on, as a local resident myself, I completely get the need to maintain local access, but a limited closure for a few hours could be a win for residents, runners and local businesses. Surely it’s worth exploring?

Step 4: push the AI further. We explored what this could look like as a Euro 2028 venue with larger crowds, bigger presence, more intensity.

Step 3: explore atmosphere. We adjusted the prompt to generate a night time version, testing lighting, and how the scheme looks after dark.

Step 2: take that base render and push it with AI. We used Gemini to explore how the design and surrounding space could evolve.

Step 1: start with a very simple base model and bring it into Twinmotion. In this case, a basic stadium, rendered using Twinmotion’s new backplate function to ground it in the real site.

Starting point: the former Sirocco Works site on the Lagan. A huge, underused waterfront space just minutes from the city centre.

We've been experimenting with AI in archviz and how it could be integrated into existing workflows. Here’s a quick test on a real site in Belfast.

Transforming the former Sirocco Works site into a public park, even temporarily, would be fantastic. It would provide residents with a significant inner-city green space and could host events and concerts. Additionally, with a new pedestrian and cycle bridge, it could become a key active travel route between Belfast City Centre and East Belfast...
A neighbourhood in waiting yes, but what a park Belfast could have had for the past 25 years and counting. #Sirocco #BelfastWaterside

AI still has a long way to go in arch viz, and this isn’t suggesting the site should be a stadium. But it’s definitely becoming a very useful way to test ideas quickly in real site context. What are your thoughts?
