While you aren’t wrong that it’s about a night driving through Tennessee (because the songwriter Ronnie Rogers lived there), the band who performed is literally Alabama and the video was shot- guess where? Production for the music video of "Dixieland Delight" took place in the city of Fort Payne, Alabama. The video is full of Alabama references and the song hit its highest success around the time Coach Bryant died. We certainly have made it our own as Tennessee (and Auburn and LSU) are now mentioned in a different way. But mostly, as my kids would say- it’s not that serious.
