So happy to see nanoscience recognized with the Nobel Prize! I’ve been saying for years that size-dependent properties (best exemplified by QDs in my opinion) represents a paradigm shift in understanding material properties that deserved a Nobel.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2023 #NobelPrize in Chemistry to Moungi G. Bawendi, Louis E. Brus and Alexei I. Ekimov “for the discovery and synthesis of quantum dots.”

These three are clearly deserving of the prize but we should spare a thought for Chris Murray and Paul Alivisatos who have also contributed massively to the synthesis and understanding of QDs but weren’t recognized here.
