Great story about Norway’s Erling Haaland
Erling Haaland spent $134,000 on a book he'll never read. Then gave it away. Last December, he and his father quietly bought the 1594 edition of Snorri Sturluson's Kings' Sagas at auction — the most expensive book ever sold in Norwegian history. Only one copy exists on earth. They donated it to the public library in Bryne. The town where Haaland grew up. One condition: it stays open. Anyone can walk in and read it. What actually is this book? Written in 1230, it chronicles Norwegian kings from the age of gods through medieval history — warriors, farmers, kings from the exact coastal region Haaland calls home. The 1594 edition was the first time it was ever printed in Norwegian. Before that it lived in manuscripts, locked away from ordinary people for 350 years. He bought the moment his people's history became something they could hold — and handed it to the next generation. "I want the book always to lie open so people can read about those who came from where I come from." He scored twice for Norway today in his first ever World Cup match. The kings in that book would've approved.

Such a great doc by my co-worker Nico and Val!
A VHS tape of Lionel Messi sparked a silent tug-of-war between Spain and Argentina for his allegiance to their national team 👀 Watch ‘Messi: The Forgotten Tape’ Sunday, May 10 at 5:30 PM ET on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and the ESPN App 🍿

In the town where the show “Cheers” was set - a show about life in a bar - Scotland WC fans came and the bars are running out of beer.
WAIT... 3X the sales of St. Patrick's Day?! "Never seen anything like it?" Thanks in large part to the Scottish visitors, Boston's bars are booming! Bars selling out of beer?? Greg: "They are a lot of fun" #Boston #Scotland #WorldCup

This would be incredible to play
The most private club on Long Island isn’t Shinnecock Hills or one of the elite neighboring courses. Three Ponds Farm has one member, the owner. The property was recently sold for around $35 million according to @nypost.

Great review of Cowboys stadium…
ダラスで日本 vs オランダ戦を観戦。 試合も素晴らしかったが、何より驚いたのはAT&T Stadium(W杯期間中はDallas Stadium)の完成度。

More than a thousand Scotland supporters hired a fleet of yellow school buses to take them to Boston Stadium for the World Cup on Saturday. It started as a novel way to save money on transport, but the yellow school bus has become a symbol of the Tartan Army. Full story below
