Thought I'd missed a few seasons. Apparently not. The Petition of Concern is being abused again, democracy is on pause, and the writers are recycling old storylines. Even Netflix would cancel this sh*t.
Move to raise NI minimum criminal age to 14 blocked after DUP petition of concern gets backing from four UUP MLAs bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cjdg…

Regardless of who people supported and voted for, watching #kamalaharris speaking to her supporters I am struck by her dignity in defeat. She reflects the character we should seek in leaders, has the courage to do the right thing and show up, even when it is tough. There is passion and hope in her message to her young followers. #ExemploDucemus

It was fantastic to welcome the amazing Shankill Shared Women’s Centre change makers to the @NIOgov in London. I am sure they will make huge differences in their communities. We shared our stories and talked a lot about the need for better #SEN provision.
Two incredible, inspiring women - change makers! @ClaireHanna @PutneyFleur thank you for your hospitality and welcoming @ShankillWomens into Westminster.

Brilliant to have @JulieACorr and her #Changemakers group in Westminster today. @ShankillWomens are empowering & enabling these women from across Belfast to be the change they want to see in their own lives and communities. Loved the discussion, thanks.

Massive thank you to Senator @oharamal for sponsoring our visit to the Oireachtas. Educating, empowering and enabling women to be the change they want to see in their own lives. #changemakers #politics @ShankillWomens

GPO Museum in Dublin - well worth the visit. Challenged but enlightened thanks to our incredible tour guide, Eric.

Though Mike will pick up where Doug left off, my enthusiasm for his leadership is marred by the manner in which it has come about. Root and branch reform is a must if the party is to survive the next decade.

I joined @uuponline in my teens, worked with @DdeBK, @SteveAikenUUP, the people of @ANBorough as Cllr & with @BeattieDoug while running for the Assembly. I've stepped back since moving to Norwich, but Doug's resignation has really made me think - after 15 years I'm stepping away

Magnanimous. Even in this moment. A measure of the man. I, however, am not as forgiving. Whilst I hold a number of individuals in very high esteem, my support for the Ulster Unionst Party ends here with Dougs leadership.
I have been inundated with kind messages, from many quarters, since I announced I was stepping down as leader of @uuponline I am loyal to my party and to a vision of Northern Ireland at ease with itself, reconciled and respectful of difference. Thank you 🙏

If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. On your conscience, be it.

Profoundly disappointed. I found a political home in the @uuponline under Dougs Leadership. His vision for a progressive centre appealed to many similarly minded activists-three of whom left another unionist party to unite under his. Hope officers know what they've done/are doing

I've nothing but good words and best wishes for Doug. I'll wait now, with bated breath, for what and who comes next. 🤔

I genuinely don't know the answer but I know Violence isn't it. Please. Leave them alone. We're better than this. We've come so far to resort to the days of old - against another.

If we are serious about addressing sectarianism in any meaningful way then we really ought to start with the Northern Ireland Assembly. A mandatory coalition, in an executive authority, has quite simply institutionalised this cancer.

Honourable as the intentions may have been - it has only served to condemn generation after generation to the same cycle of start-stop politics. The politics of fear and division.
