I genuinely don’t believe anyone wants hyperpersonalized media. People YEARN for communal viewing. Barbenheimer. Game of Thrones. Heated Rivalry. Part of the thrill is other people experiencing it with us. We should be bringing back appointment tv and 90 day theatrical releases

I know this is the cheesiest sentiment in the world, but honestly believe that if you have one person in your life who cares about you and who worries about you and looks forward to seeing you, you're richer than Elon Musk.
It is genuinely remarkable how casting one black person in The Odyssey has caused the world's richest human to go on a weeks-long tantrum, over a movie that he hasn't even seen. No matter how rich you are, posting still gets you. It's the most powerful force in the universe.

Could you imagine if there were journalists whose beat was covering magicians, but they think magic is real, so they're always breathlessly reporting on the lady they saw cut in half.
I'm really and truly not sure there is any group of people more gullible than tech reporters

Say what you will but The Room is a strange, raw nerve of a film with all of Tommy Wiseau’s ego and insecurities on display, which makes it real deal art in a way that Gen AI never will be
Never seen a more blatant use of AI in filmmaking. Flamboyant. Horrid. Humans don't talk or act like this.

how do you get to a place ideologically where you call yourself a libertarian but also believe people need to stay in their houses so that agents of the federal government don't execute them in the streets

what an insult to a city that's full of amazing artists and creatives. just fully ruining the legacy of the mural trail with this shite
NEW: Glasgow City Council has just approved a massive AI-generated mural to be painted in the city centre. The illustration of Scottish elements inexplicably contains a bald eagle. The planner says those upset about it are "keyboard warriors" who should "calm down"

See how it's always women and children used for this kind of stuff? GenAI only exists to facilitate scammers, exploitation and generate illegal content. This shouldn't be a thing.

A lot of Gen AI, like crypto before it, is rapidly approaching the harsh truth that its only really promising application is in various scams, frauds, and other crimes. Get your parents off the internet before it’s too late!

We need to heavily shame and stigmatize using AI for personal writing: texts, eulogies, essays, twitter posts. Letting a machine steal your words is a dangerous habit, that over time will rob you of being able to write or think at all. Writing is for human beings.
IMO it should be considered quite rude in most contexts to post or send someone a wall of 100% AI-generated text. “Here, read this thing I didn’t care enough about to express myself.”

Generative AI isn't progress - because it traps its users in ever more recycled loops of past information, past patterns and past culture. It's a retro mashup machine that leads us in circles in which the past is reprocessed to the point where it becomes meaningless slop.
Fighting against AI isn’t fighting progress, it’s fighting regression. They want us to become stupider, stop thinking, stop feeling, stop creating on our own, buy their products, platforms, news, and opinions. AI helps make us all less human and more cattle.
