Big picture: the capitalist structure of the U.S. economy is based on growth—which makes sense when you’re colonizing & there are plenty of resources. There’s not a lot of room for growth left. SpaceX & AI attract massive capital because they falsely claim to solve this dilemma. SpaceX extends the old colonial vision into space—that’s why there is actual science fiction about “asteroid mining” in the S1. That’s why Musk put a TAM of essentially infinity dollars. He’s appealing to the fears of capitalists who know their system is becoming obsolete and want a “new frontier” for growth. The strategy of the AI industry is the opposite—rather than try to grow off the planet, it claims it’s going to remove labor from the economic equation to grow profits. That’s why the chatbot delusion has been so powerful in the financial industry. It heads right to the fear center of billionaires. It’s all just the opium of capitalism.

BREAKING: US officials have now confirmed in a briefing that Iran will get full access to a total of $100 billion in frozen funds and the $300 billion reconstruction fund, both included in the deal with implementation now underway, per WSJ. More than $150 billion of the fund has already been committed, directly contradicting Trump's claims that the US would not contribute to the $300 billion fund, per Reuters.
