Food for thought - Peter Lyndon-James
ONE NATION — I WILL BE STRAIGHT UP
I’ve spent months researching politicians, federal and state, including Western Australian MPs that I haven’t published yet due to the work that I do. Their conduct, their records, how they got to be the way they are and where they are now.
Let me be clear about how I work. I’m not biased. I’ll name the negatives on One Nation and the positives on One Nation. I’ll name the negatives on any party or any person, and the positives too. It’s not there for me to judge, that’s for the reader to decide.
I don’t care what you or anyone thinks of me, and I’ll tell you what I find or see without bias or prejudice.
Please know that I’m not Labor and I’m no longer Liberal. I’m not a member of One Nation or any other party. Though I have grown to respect Maryka Groenewald through the research I’ve done. I acknowledge Maryka is new to politics and hasn’t had the amount of power at her disposal that other politicians have.
I’ll tell you where I land personally, after all that digging. One politician stands out, Pauline Hanson.
Not because I agree with every position she holds, but because of what she’s withstood for the last 30 years and the fact she’s still standing.
She was jailed and later cleared on appeal. She’s been ridiculed, dragged through the courts, hit with allegation after allegation that didn’t hold up. The machine threw everything it had at her. Most people would have folded. She didn’t.
She reminds me of myself, fighting a system that doesn’t fight for you or work for ordinary Australians. It works for itself, and for the people already inside it.
She’s not perfect. In my view her weak spot is candidate selection, and the machine will keep mining that for anything it can use against her.
But the persistence is real, and it’s rare.
And right now she’s the one who makes the major parties stop and take check. Watch how hard the Labor Party works to discredit her, that tells you something on its own.
Here’s my point, and it’s bigger than any one party.
Australians are being milked dry. Working people pushed toward the poverty line while the rich get richer and politicians walk out of office into multimillion-dollar jobs. The major parties have had decades to fix it. They haven’t, because the system works just fine for them.
So this federal election, I’d encourage you to get behind One Nation. Don’t just listen to the news. It may not be your forever home, but we must send a message the major parties can’t ignore: we’ve had enough, what I have found disgusts me to the core.
That’s my view. You’ll have yours. As always, weigh it for yourself. But please do your research, don’t listen to click bait posts or people.
Factual information is what we need.
What’s your thoughts…?
