We empower Amalgamated Transit Union Local 241 and Local 308 members with tools to take control of their union and to inspire humble, accountable leadership.
CTA, Pace and Metra riders and workers are getting together again!
ALT Thanks to the volunteer lobbying by CTA workers, funding was secured for public transportation. But are the workers and riders secure? Meet and question CTA workers to find out what is really going on at the CTA. Livestream details will be posted. No charge for entry, but donations for our hosts at the Unity Center is encouraged
CTA, Pace, Metra and Paratransit jobs and services are secure for now. This is good news for all. The agencies owe much more than gratitude to unions, transit riders and volunteers for the free advocacy. Fares should NOT be raised. @streetsblogchix.com/capitolfax/status/1984…
NEW: Mass Transit bill has been filed in Springfield -- a massive piece of legislation to provide $1.5 - $1.87 bil to CTA, Metra, Pace and downstate transit. Funded by a 4.95% tax on income or assets above $1 billion, and a 7% amusement tax. Set to be debated in committee tomorrow ilga.gov/documents/legislati…
Finally, the sad Truth comes out:
The culture of gay-shaming at the CTA is being covered up. Transgender CTA workers suffer some of the worst discrimination of all.
