Since my original campaign to become Mayor of OKC, I have talked about “One OKC” and the need to incorporate all of our city’s diverse communities in our decision-making. That work brings us closer to our aspiration that all residents enjoy equal opportunity.
This week, I told the “One OKC” story in The New York Times (essay linked below), to CNN and others. It’s important that the nation knows that Oklahoma City is taking real action, and that we remain proud of and dedicated to that work. As I write in the piece, “To cast equal opportunity as a threat rather than a goal is to move backward.”
