e pluribus unum - figuratively (and literally) on the money.
Since my original campaign to become Mayor of OKC, I have talked about “One OKC” and the need to incorporate all of our city’s diverse communities in our decision-making. That work brings us closer to our aspiration that all residents enjoy equal opportunity. This week, I told the “One OKC” story in The New York Times (essay linked below), to CNN and others. It’s important that the nation knows that Oklahoma City is taking real action, and that we remain proud of and dedicated to that work. As I write in the piece, “To cast equal opportunity as a threat rather than a goal is to move backward.” nytimes.com/2025/08/20/opini…

The world of philanthropy has lost an extraordinary scholar, @DukeU's Joel Fleishman, and all of us who were lucky enough to call him a friend have a lost a true mensch. Our team at @BloombergDotOrg benefited greatly from his wisdom and sage advice over the years, as have so many others. We will miss him dearly.
