Elementary STEM is building field trip experience guides for a visit to the theaters in Knoxville! “How can we design a theater so each person in the audience can see and hear the performance?” This is our driving question that K-5 Ss figure out!
The Bijou shares many of the same design features that the Tennessee Theater has, such as rake seating, a sloped floor, and a proscenium around the stage! @KCSScience
Architect Margaret Butler from McCarty Holsaple McCarty, explains how theatres are designed to allow for every audience member to be able to hear & see the performance. She points out key design features in the video for students to observe during their field trip. @KCSScience

We’re recruiting HS Ts to participate in an assessment study focused on pilot testing phenomenon-driven bio assessment tasks w/ Ss. The study will help us understand how to better design science assessments that work w/ hi-quality instructional materials. bscs.org/pilot-2025
Our @KnoxSchools K-5 STEM Ts kicked off #NationalEngineersWeek at DLD. They participated as learners in LEGO Spike lessons that challenged them to solve a real world problem by applying physical science ideas to build a prototype, create a code, & test! @KCSScience@KnoxSTEM
