This week, our organization in coordination with the @SAFPDChief , held a joint training exercise. Crews completed several company operations simultaneously in real time.
Scenarios included everything from a small fire in a single story residents, all the way to multiple victims having to be rescued from windows while also accomplishing fire attack.

Today crews made quick work of a small grass fire along I-35. The fire started from sparks of a passing vehicle trailer. The fire was extinguished quickly and safely thanks to the traffic control from @KearneyMOpolice Officers even assisted with putting the truck back in service!

Today is the 1st day of Missouri's Severe Weather Preparedness Week. @NWS reports 16 Missourians died because of tornadoes in 2025, making it the deadliest year for tornadoes in the state since at least 158 people were killed in the Joplin EF-5 tornado in 2011. Last year there were also 3 flooding deaths & 1 death due to a severe thunderstorm. In the early morning hours crews from C-shift were alerted of a residential structure fire. Crews arrived on scene to a working fire in the garage with vehicle involvement. Within minutes crews had the fire under control and were able to keep it contained to the garage.
