I’ve spent over a decade trying to describe my favorite plant in the world to people who have never seen it. I’m so thrilled to have this essay on that plant—and what it means to me—out in the world!! Thank you @TinyMolecules and @sbdobbie for giving it the perfect home!
Big news! I’m trying something new… and I would so appreciate shares and support! I’m offering editorial services now! (And will soon offer specialized workshops as well!) Thank you all for giving me the confidence to try this! 💙

Since there are still lots of writers on here pursuing traditional publishing, here’s a thread of times I almost gave up and why I’m glad I didn’t:

My last publication of 2024 is a total bucket list... Iron Horse Literary Review puts out a gorgeous publication, PhotoFinish, at midnight of New Year's Eve. And this year my little story, "Afternoon Nap" is in their pages. I think I can die happy now... issuu.com/ironhorsereview/do…

Hey #PhD#PhDlife, help me out here—what was the most ludicrous “only in a PhD” thing that happened to you in grad school? Looking especially for advisor-related interactions/experiences.
But what if instead of applying to the things, every time we felt ambitious, we put a $15 submission fee into a jar and told ourselves we had read our work and felt it had promise and in the end we all won the money and knew someone believed in us?
