My former headmaster, Dr. Peregrine Kibuuka (may he continue to rest in peace), often reminded us: "You may commit an offence as a group but, when I send you home, there comes a moment when you step out of the taxi and walk that lonely road by yourself". It was his way of teaching us that while actions may be taken collectively, consequences are ultimately borne individually. The crowd may share the decision, but accountability always finds your doorstep alone.

A beautiful poem by Lee Tzu Pheng (Singapore Cultural Medallion winner) When I'm dead. Your tears will flow But I won't know Cry with me now instead. You will send flowers, But I won't see Send them now instead You'll say words of praise But I won't hear. Praise me now instead You'll forget my faults, But I won't know..... Forget them now instead. You'll miss me then, But I won't feel. Miss me now, instead. You'll wish You could have spent more time with me, Spend it now instead When you hear I'm gone, you'll find your way to my house to pay condolence but we haven't even spoken in years. Look for me now. Spend time with every person around you, and help them with whatever you have to make them happy, your families, friends and acquaintances. Make them feel Special because you never know when time will take them away from you forever. Alone I can 'Say' but together we can 'Talk'. Alone I can 'Enjoy' but together we can 'Celebrate' Alone I can 'Smile' but together we can 'Laugh' That's the BEAUTY of Human Relations. We are nothing without each other So Stay Connected!!

Suppliers are becoming retailers just to survive, margins are disappearing and the taxman somehow knows your profits before you do. Everyone is undercutting and chasing cash flow from the same customer. Business lately feels less like growth and more like survival. Keep that day job

If PWC Uganda received 400m UGX (~100k USD) from say PWC Bermuda as part of the fees to execute an assignment under the PWC group.... They'd be considered foreign agents and would have to go to the Minister to report themselves or be jailed for 20 years. Very Interesting law.

What the Artemis II astronauts did over the last 10 days was a testament to their bravery. And the fact that they traveled farther from Earth than anyone ever has, re-entered our atmosphere at more than 24,000 mph, and splashed down safely was a testament to human ingenuity. Thanks to everyone at @NASA for making this mission possible, and for taking us along for the ride.

When I saw the cover page on my desk this morning, I thought about how old @Kalinaki isโ€ฆ. A young person leaving the newsroom during his prime. It reminded me of the last years of Arsene Wenger at Arsenal. He saw all his best players leave. Journalism in Uganda today feels like those Wenger years at Emiratesโ€ฆ. Anyway, like those Wenger players, Daniel leaves already a legend, a veteranโ€ฆ. That explains how talented he is that he was entrusted with responsibility at such a young age. Just like Fabregas for example was at Arsenal. A captain of soccer powerhouse at such a young ageโ€ฆ DK, a captain (General Manager, Editorial) at NMG. Although I am happy for what DK has been able to do and achieve at such a young age, I also feel sad for journalism. People like DK shouldnโ€™t be leaving journalism during their prime. But thatโ€™s the industry in Uganda and perhaps in many other markets. However, journalism in Uganda should be grateful for the decades he gave it. DK must have felt like Wenger at one stage, seeing his talented protรฉgรฉs leave from time to time. But the good thing is that the people he has mentored over the last quarter a century or so will be able to carry on. Time for others to become the Mikel Artetas. Daniel, wishing you the best in the future and welcome, to the other sideโ€ฆ.

We have lived through floppy disks, and Facebook pokes and we are still here, still growing, still looking good. Maybe the real glow-up isnโ€™t just in our faces. Itโ€™s peace. Itโ€™s boundaries. Itโ€™s choosing ourselves.
