If any med schools are seeing this, I’m available for hire for my 12 second lecture: “Buy your groceries from the outer square of the grocery store. Only go into the isles for coffee, spices, and a water filter for your Brita”

Challenging Cases: 84yo WM w/AS, did TAVR. Used single Proglide in LCFA. Proglide got stuck and foot plate mechanism would not disengage from Ca . We deconstructed and safely removed from the arteriotomy. Fantastic tips & tricks, big credit to Dr Amy Daliman @TAVRBot

Also a great block for folks presenting with lower extremity Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome flare. Have used these to get pts out of acute pain crisis before.

Several great #Irad posts about celiac plexus lately. It’s southern cousins, the Lumbar Sympathetic ganglia, are important for any who treat critical vascular pts. EtOH neurolysis at L2-3 via CT. Can relieve rest pain, bridge to recasc. Bilat works best even for unilat sx

One of the best experiences I had as a resident was going to DC to lobby for healthcare policy change. Thats where I realized how little those that decide healthcare policy know about healthcare practice This won’t stop street fentanyl- but it will take away a useful drug.
The Republican-led House just passed the HALT Fentanyl Act. By designating Fentanyl as a schedule I controlled substance, we are taking a decisive step in combatting the devastating plague that claims the lives of Americans day after day due to Joe Biden’s open border policies.

Not the most wild of pathologies but impressive example of a “nipple” or “daughter sac” sign on this AAA. RP blood but no extrav on pt presentation to ER w/back pain. Temporary tamponade. Angio shows blowing hole in the sac by time pt makes it to angio for emergent repair

Patient comes down for IVC filter. This is the initial venogram after some trouble getting wire into IVC. Then, a subsequent venogram is performed after a 30 second intervention (see next reply). What intervention was performed? @SIRRFS

🧷 Nice example of the “hairpin” turn of a T10 radicular artery arising off the proximal intercostal with communication to the anterior spinal artery. Careful using particulate for embos here ( why liquid neurolytic is contraindicated for intercostal neurolysis) #irad #radres

Recurring thought: In a world where other specialties are increasingly doing the “chip shot” image guided procedures and referring the “difficult” procedures to IR - at what point does it become justified to lobby for a difficulty modifier to the CPT? (Ie surgical Modifier 22)

The @ahahospitals is opposing removal of non-compete clauses “on behalf of 270,000 affiliated physicians.” Something tells me they didn’t ask for physician input on this. Feel free to let the AHA know your thoughts. @FTC

My first thought when seeing this was wondering if we could treat Ogilvies this way They say no idea in medicine is new: Wonder why this fell out of favor lol 🙊💨 ajronline.org/doi/abs/10.221…
Treating bloat in Cows.🐄💨 Bloat is a digestive disorder that results from the build up of excessive gas, which can can ultimately lead to death. This method of treatment helps the cow by releasing methane & the flames help the vet gauge the remaining gas left in the cow. 🐄

• United Health will PROFIT about $22.3 billion this year. • 50% of hospitals will lose money this year. • 47% of US healthcare workers plan to leave within the next 3 years. That is the current state of US healthcare, and it should terrify everyone.
