Jalen Brunson took $100M out of his own pockets so the New York Knicks could re-distribute the wealth and sign critical talent needed to win a championship. Like it or not, socialism already winning in NYC.

Seattle passengers will soon be able to reach Vancouver BC or Portland in around 2 hours with the next generation of Amtrak trains coming to the Pacific Northwest 🤯🚄 The new trainsets are capable of operating at speeds up to 125 mph, featuring modern interiors, improved accessibility, and upgraded seating, the trains are expected to begin entering service by the end of 2026 and will help introduce the future of rail travel across the region. Are you excited for the new Amtrak Airo Trains⁉️👀 #DUBSEA
Community note
The new Amtrak Airo trains will not reduce travel times to around 2 hours, as routes are limited to a maximum of 79 mph by track conditions. Current trips take about 3.5 hours to Portland. opb.org/article/2026/0… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amtrak_Ca… cntraveler.com/story/amtraks-…

I can understand how and why somebody who is poorly informed, heavily ideologically conditioned, and consuming right-wing media nonstop would hate Barack Obama. He held real political power, was an electoral buzzsaw as a candidate, and represented change that a lot of Americans found threatening But the Michelle Obama hostility has always insanely confusing to me It’s not like she was ever a hyper-partisan political actor She and her brother, who was a hooper at Princeton and later worked on Wall Street before moving into coaching, are literal caricatures of the “American Dream,” which I guess in the eyes of the American Right is something only reserved for white people

They folded the towels & everything 🙌 After a draw with the Netherlands, Japan’s national team once again drew attention for what happened after the final whistle. The squad left their locker room spotless, continuing a World Cup trend that has seen Japanese players and fans praised for their emphasis on cleanliness, discipline, and respect beyond the pitch. ‘A bird that flies never leaves a trace’ 🗣️ Japanese fans once again stayed behind to clean the stadium after their draw with the Netherlands. The tradition traces back to Japan’s school system, where students are taught from a young age to clean their classrooms and leave no trace behind. [📸: via/ GettyImages]

Individuals who make Pride Night about themselves are exactly why these events are held. The existence of LGBTQ people should not be a matter of opinion or morality. They are human beings and deserve to be treated with respect.
UPDATE: At least 4 San Francisco Giants players protested Pride Night on Friday vs Chicago 1. Starting pitcher Landen Roupp wrote Genesis 9:12-16 on his Pride hat 2. Reliever Sam Hentges refused to wear the Pride hat (just like Blake Treinen) 3. Reliever JT Brubaker wrote Genesis 9:13-15 on his Pride hat 4. Reliever Ryan Walker wrote a message on the side of his Pride hat was unreadable on the broadcast *I couldn't tell on the broadcast if outspoken Christian Robbie Ray protested as well Well done, gentlemen. You've set a great example for other Christian athletes 👏

This is an article that I wrote following the death of Dean Potter in 2015 that I think does a good job of highlighting how inspirational he was to me personally and showing how much I admired his approach to his arts. The recent @HBO show The Dark Wizard used some of my interview clips to really make our relationship seem hyper competitive and dysfunctional, but the reality was a little more prosaic - we didn’t know each other super well and rarely saw each other. I was always kind of afraid of him because he was so intense. But I’d always been super inspired by his climbing and his vision. We overlapped in Yosemite to some extent from 2006 until his death in 2015, so that’s nearly a decade in which I was normally spending about 3 months a year in Yosemite. We each did a handful of climbs over that time that were considered “competitive” (the Nose speed record being an obvious example). When you see it all in a 4 episode documentary it seems super fast and extreme - when you actually live it over a decade it all feels a lot slower and more normal… The Dark Wizard does an amazing job of remembering Dean as the visionary climber that he was and it’s certainly worth a watch. Just remember that it’s edited for maximum effect. time.com/3898371/alex-honnol…
