This happened when I was a smaller streamer.
I had someone come into my chat, be really nice to me and ask for a collab and me being naive agreed to a collab they asked for, then openly started flirting with me on my stream after I told them I wasn’t interested. Started sending me pictures I never asked for and was asking me to send some back in return.
I had asked an ex-friend if he can be my 1 so I can feel more comfortable, it got worse because I am someone who doesn’t like getting my name made fun of or joked about and kept making jokes about it that made me very uncomfortable, finding out said collaborater was also drunk and started calling me names, said that I’m an asshole and had to stop midstream because I was having a meltdown and was overwhelmed.
It was even worse when my 1 told me the guy said he was gonna kill himself which was triggering for my 1.
So yeah, I learned to start doing my research on people and not jump the gun on collabing with random crazy people again.
Do you guys have any bad collab experiences?
My worst one was a couple years ago with a VTuber. We were supposed to play Valorant together, but something came up on their end. They canceled less than an hour before we were scheduled to go live. I get that emergencies happen, so I reached out to reschedule… and got completely ghosted. A short while later, they even unfollowed me.
We had similar-sized audiences, so it wasn’t like I was a nobody to them. I was just left hanging with nothing. I hope they were okay, but it definitely left a sour taste in my mouth.
