Same here in 🇨🇦! We have a strong and fierce biomedical sector, and our salaries never depend on our grants. Winters are beautiful, summers are hot….what are you waiting for?

She really is, quite simply, the best.
🎉 ATVB is celebrating one of our Council’s most incredible volunteers, Dr. Kathryn Moore, by presenting her with the Distinguished Achievement Award due to her HUGE impact in our scientific community. Join me in giving her a huge shoutout and continue the celebration at #AHA24

As researchers, it’s our responsibility to promote the highest level of integrity at every step of our research. It’s the only way to earn (and keep!) public trust. Karen Wallace is here @UOHIResearch to talk about what responsible conduct of research means. A full house!

September got off to a busy start with travel & conferences but NEVER too busy to fit in 30 mins of movement. Kicked it off walking 25k steps/day around ESC & London 😮‍💨 but today firmly back on home soil with an evening walk. #JumpIn (📸 by mini-me, both wearing our JumpIn socks)

The #ESCCongress2024 did not disappoint. Take home messages from the final day in London: AI needs to be used with caution, there is SO much still to learn about lipids (and new agents to target) and valuable RCTs that can change practice. So long London!

One of the many cool examples of how RNA-based therapies are taking over. These are going to be game-changers for so many indications. So much more to come! #ESCCongress2024
Results from our Phase 3 study of our #RNAi therapy for adults with familial chylomicronemia syndrome were presented at @escardio #ESCCongress 2024 and simultaneously published in @NEJM. Learn more here: bit.ly/3Tf8uop

Highlights of the ESC so far. Lots of new drugs on the block, trials with surprising findings, and so so much AI. Not pictured: food, drink & friends ❤️ ☺️#ESCCongress2024

And let’s not forget the external/environmental exposures and how they worsen CVD. What are the best prevention strategies? #ESCCongress2024 #ESC2024

What a daaaaaaaay with these brilliant and fun folks! The lake, the sun, the food, the dorky jokes. Cottage day is officially the best #Rayhive tradition. Looking forward to next year already. ☀️ 🛶🤘

It is so important that the data we generate as researchers be used for good and never evil. One of our global experts in all-things open science, @KDCobey, will be a key part of identifying dual-use research of concern and developing ways to protect it.
Dr. @KDCobey has been appointed to an expert panel at the Council of Canadian Academies to support and protect Canadian research data. 🔎 Learn more here 🔽 ow.ly/BUhb50SCthZ

It is the only place we consider a home-away-from-home. It is the place we have visited the most, welcomed by our many family members. We ❤️ you Edinburgh/Musselburgh.

Ohhhh! Two of the people in that pic I am lucky enough to call family. Let us always value the skilled voices of journalists, like @CarAdrianH, and all of the J-school grads that follow, to guide us.
Some delightful, whip smart, tough-minded, fearless and empathetic @JSchool_CU students (and a Mom) following Convocation. Any media organization in Canada and beyond would be lucky to have them!!

My friend Erin (allegedly Twitterless, but we know she is watching 👀) won a much-deserved award for her research contributions to our Dept. She is the most generous colleague, and person, I know. Her work behind the scenes for allll the things, is recognized. We need more Erins.
