Was such an honour to be asked to be part of the @EMBLAustralia program today! Had a lot of fun sharing some of my experiences - was also blown away by the insightful questions from the audience!! Thanks all
Last speaker of the day is @KathLocock from CSIRO 🌱 talking about unlocking the Potential of Plant-Based Medicines 💊. It’s important to acknowledge the First Nations and their rich traditional knowledge, stories and history. #EMBLAPhD

Through our CSIRO Kick-Start program, OAA is working with our Biomedical Manufacturing research team. They’re characterising & analysing the chemical makeup of a botanical used in traditional medicine & developing methods to effectively harness its bioactives for use in skincare.

A Bio-Gene-ius new insecticide. 🐛 When @biogenetechltd told us they'd found a native plant which could fight pests and have minimal impact on helpful insects like bees, we were excited to team up. This is Flavocide™'s origin story: csiro.au/en/news/All/Article…

Great insights from an amazingly wise women! Lots of areas we can focus on to improve out national science landscape!
Outdated research assessment metrics drive inefficient behaviour & reduce mobility between industry & academia. We must modernise metrics & increase R&D investment so researchers & institutions aren't focused on chasing outdated metrics to secure funding. theguardian.com/australia-ne…
