I’m so mad about this.
Especially when you think about the dwindling coverage for books, the struggle for poetry and MG books to get ANY kind of press, and the boost indie comics get from things like this.
It was SOMETHING, you know? Ugh.
I know the Goodreads Choice awards are inherently a joke but getting rid of the poetry, graphic novels & comics, and middle grade & children's categories while adding a romantasy category is wild

Recently had an incredible MG anthology with a phenomenal line up shelved. All the rejections were of the "MG is a hard sell right now"

Combine this with my recent visit to B&N where there was NO new MG on the shelves, and my talks with industry professionals saying it's so hard to publish MG because it's impossible to compare to the beasts taking over sales...I will ALWAYS be fighting for MG. It deserves more.
