Its brilliant isn't it and shows the power of our supporters. Whilst it comes from the @SWFCTrust the person who came up with this idea also needs a massive slap on the back for have a brilliant idea in the first place. #SWFC

YOU did it, Wednesday fans. Thank you. Every single person who donated, shared, liked, reposted, or spread the word played a part. But this isn’t the finish line. Every extra pound raised means more tickets, more opportunities, more memories, and more Wednesdayites getting the chance to be part of our club. Let’s see how far we can take this. I’m so proud to be affiliated with this club and community. Hats off to @SWFCTrust for transitioning from fighters to builders. Their efforts to selflessly raise money for those who otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend games is so heartwarming and reassuring. And I’m very proud of the club for stepping up and supporting the effort. The entire community should give itself a collective pat on the back for pitching in to make this such a successful and meaningful drive. Just gives so much more meaning to We’re All Wednesday Aren’t We #WAWAW
The @SWFCTrust fundraiser has reached £35,000 -- meaning the anonymous donor who contacted them will match the amount. It means the Trust have raised £70,000 to help buy season tickets for deserving fans who can't afford them, replica kit for children & ticket initiatives #SWFC

🚨🦉 Important Announcement🦉🚨 A new friend of Sheffield Wednesday and the Supporters Trust, who prefers to remain anonymous, has been incredibly impressed by the outpouring of support for the effort to raise money for this important cause and has made an incredibly generous pledge to match every gift, up to £35,000 raised by supporters towards this effort. We’re currently on £27,910, meaning we need to raise the final £7,090 to unlock the full £35,000 contribution. If we do, a £35,000 supporter-led campaign becomes a £70,000 investment in Sheffield Wednesday supporters and young people across our community. That means more season tickets, more match tickets, more mascot experiences, more shirts, and the chance to reach even more children who dream of being part of Sheffield Wednesday but may never otherwise get the opportunity. It means creating memories with parents, grandparents and friends that will last a lifetime, helping young people feel connected to their club, their city and their community. The donor has recognised just how important family and community are in Sheffield, and wants to help open the door for the next generation of Wednesdayites. The donor recognised something we’ve all seen: when Wednesdayites are given the chance to help one another, they step forward. In discussing the donation, they impressed upon us a simple message: “We’re All Wednesday Aren’t We?” That spirit is exactly what Sheffield Wednesday is about. This fanbase has already achieved something remarkable. Now we have the opportunity to turn £35,000 into £70,000. gofund.me/24d46c408 💙 #SWFC

Healthy debate online this morning, but there’s also been a few mistruths spread about the Trust, so hopefully the below clears a few things up. 1) No formal board offer has been made. Conversations have gone no further than what everybody saw discussed publicly on the video last night. 2) If any formal proposal was ever made, it would go to a membership vote on whether or not the Trust should accept. That is how all major decisions are made as a democratic community benefit society. 3) If members voted in favour, any representative would themselves be elected. Again, democratic and transparent. 4) The Trust would never accept remuneration for such a role. This would be an unpaid volunteer position which, frankly, could often be a thankless task. 5) So why do it if members feel it’s the right decision? Because that representative would gain visibility of the workings of the football club and be able to positively influence non-football, supporter matters. That is the pinnacle of fan engagement and would work alongside all fan groups being properly engaged through a structured supporter engagement model, far far better than anything we had before. When I first joined the Trust, I wasn’t happy with what I felt was a lack of protest activity. So I joined, got involved and helped influence the direction we took. That’s the whole point of a democratic supporters’ trust. Anybody can join, anybody can put ideas forward and everybody can have a say in the big decisions that are made. #SWFC

I’ve attended AGMs & the like at #SWFC going back to the 1980s. They were tense, touchy affairs, even in good times. Always an “us & them” feeling in the room. Last night at the @SWFCTrust AGM was the most together I’ve known this club to be. Ever.

Cannot possibly explain how stressful that whole evening was, but massive credit to Joe Staton, @WTIDPOD, @TWWcast, @owl4life1867 and @robstaton for making it all look far smoother than me aggressively rubbing a laptop trackpad for two hours in a working men’s club, living in fear of the screensaver kicking in 😂 #swfc

Dear @swfc fans… best fans in the whole wide world, It’s been a whole 2 weeks ( not 2 months ) since we kicked off our stewardship of this great club. Thanks for your outpouring of support / response to our release of season ticket sales. Credit to David Bruce & co for putting in the thought and designing a fan centric offering. Hopefully you’ve seen work began at Hillsborough, firstly around improving fan safety. Once completed, more to follow… much! Designing plan for training grounds, 1 ) in preparation for upcoming season; 2) with future in mind. Our mission is to give our 1st team and others in our playing family the best in facilities, for proper training and recovery. More to follow! David B & co very focused on building the squad to carry us through next season and beyond… this is our top #1 priority and will receive outsized attention. And even with restrictions placed on us for the next two seasons due to prior owners behavior, @michaelestorch, Tom and I have unwavering confidence in David and his football brain trust to make all of us @swfc fans proud. We strive to put a great team on the pitch! Even while back in the States, please know our entire focus and energy is squarely on making Sheffield Wednesday the best all around club and fan experience we can. We will continue to strive for excellence in everything we do! We will give it our all… for you! This is your club! David
