Part of the algorithm we are using to model opponent rotations in football is designed to minimize the chance of 3 or more undefeated teams. It's not feasible to prevent it in all cases, but these "triangle" groupings are part of the considerations and penalties.
I doubt it will come to this, but intriguing storyline in the ACC:
FSU, UNC and Louisville are all undefeated in league play, and none of them play each other.
Just wait until we go to 17- and 18-team conferences next year.
