This is so coolโ€”and super important for accelerating AI's impact on science and health.
Human biology matters. Scientists and AI need human data to understand health and disease. Crownlands is open sourcing Gateway 4M, the largest single-cell tissue dataset ever released from living humans, to advance research on brain aging and neurodegeneration.

I'm such a huge fan of what @suekhim and the Brilliant team have built. When every kid in every country grows up with a 1:1 personalized AI tutor, we'll realize how much potential we really have.

AI is making kids dumber. It should be making them geniuses. Introducing Koji, the first AI tutor that gets kids to actually think. ๐Ÿ‘‡

The next in a series of firsts for AI and mathematics!
If you are a mathematician, then you may want to make sure you are sitting down before reading further.

A news reporter asked Michael Jordan if he thought the โ€™90s Bulls could beat LeBronโ€™s Lakers. MJ: Yes. Reporter: By how much? MJ: Two or three points. Reporter: Why so close? MJ: Most of us are almost 60 now.

Absolutely lovely. Highest recommendation.
Well, I guess the idea that humans will have nothing valuable left to do in the age of AI is going around again, so it is a good time to repost this article

Itโ€™s estimated that the Protein Data Bank (PDB) cost around $13B to create. Alphafold was only possible because of it. If we want ML to solve biology, we should be funding the creation of databases and the development of new assay technologies. ML is nothing without data.

I hosted some eighth graders in my Pentagon office today. One asked how to be successful. I said: 1) be high agency 2) have an insatiable curiosity about the world 3) build meaningful and enduring relationships with those around them Things tend to fall into place.

It turns out, the job of a radiologist isn't to read x-rays. It's to cure people. And if AI can help speed the process of understanding x-rays, radiologists can see and cure more people.
"A decade ago, AI was supposed to replace radiologists. Today, radiologists make more than $500,000 per year, and their employment continues to grow, see chart below. Reading scans is a task, not a job, and when the task gets cheaper, demand for the job grows."

People are capable of far more than they think, on far shorter timelines. Problems expand to fill the time you give them.

Me: GPT 5.5, why is this Worker failing? GPT 5.5: *thinks* It's because of this deep corner case in the Cap'n Proto RPC system described in this comment you wrote 6 years ago, which you thought was only a perf issue but actually affects correctness: github.com/capnproto/capnproโ€ฆ Me:
