I really like the phrase!
It forces those prone to making assumptions … to step away from lazy patterns of expectation so readily imposed on others
ie you “should” “can/cant” or “ought” to be/do/feel XYZ…
So they hear what the individual human has actually been thro 😊

Kindness in the NHS. Let us not forget ancillary staff. The ward orderly has gone down to the kitchen specially, unprompted . to get something that my mother might eat.Lovely of her.

Indeed a great paper, in many ways. Illustrates the many psycho & social forces that influence decisions - we can never eliminate them but we should learn how to mitigate them. The paper offers solutions but we need evidence for them.

Can we not allow the possibility that our physio & other colleagues can also be alert to differential diagnoses & hidden problems? I have seen great examples of physios doing that. Whoever attends patients first should be alert & ready to refer across.

Today, I’ve asked Lord Darzi, an NHS surgeon for 30 years, to lead an independent investigation into the true state of the health service.
The findings will provide the basis for our 10-year plan to get the NHS back on its feet.

Wes Streeting has had years to work out what’s wrong with the NHS, but now he’s in office apaprently needs consultants to tell him what he should already know taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2024… Wes Streeting is hitting the ground by.....setting up a consultation on what's wrong with the NHS, headed by a peer whose ideas failed when he advised the last Labour government. Is that really the best he can do?

Have to disagree with you on this. There have been excellent analyses by authoritative bodies such as the King’s Fund. Make use of them. Rather like doing a Systematic Review rather than setting up yet another study.
