We are delighted to be at @ILFScotland's 10th birthday event today. As you would expect from an organisation which supports disabled people to have choice and control over their lives, we have heard many inspirational stories of people's lives being transformed by the fund.
ALT Celebration poster with photos of people enjoying a range of activities. There are streamers and a 10 years badge at the top of the poster. Text on the poster reads Celebrating 10 years of ILF Scotland.
It was also a real treat to see @GDA__online's hugely talented Purple Poncho Players perform. What a brilliant, uplifting event and happy 10th birthday to ILF Scotland 🎉

The Keynotes, our Central based inclusive choir, were delighted to bring their infectious joy to the #scvogathering earlier this week. They loved every minute & hoped their audiences did too 🎙️🎶
These are statutory public services that Government agencies are legally required to provide. We are calling on the Chancellor @RachelReevesMP to reconsider and if that doesn’t happen, we need @scotgov to step in and cover the costs. #eNICs
“You can’t think of it as ‘the NHS should be reformed over here and social care should be reformed over here’.”
@r_cackett was on the BBC’s Sunday Show discussing the NCS Bill and the need for reform in both social care & the NHS: tinyurl.com/4t85s3sz@JohnSwinney@IanMWelsh
“If we have no sector that’s stable, we can’t reform anything at all.”
Last night @r_cackett spoke on the News at 7 about the NCS update and the urgent need to address social care funding challenges.

Happy Friday! Each week, we're sharing a handwritten message from one of our members about why they value social care and support. 👇
"I will need it some day!"

ALT An image showing a white card tilted on a light green background, with illustrations of loudspeakers and circles in the corners. At the top of the card there is a heading in purple text which reads, ‘I value social care and support because…’ and underneath, a handwritten message reads: ‘I will need it some day!’. The messages are from a CCPS event in May 2024 at which members’ views on the true value of social care were captured. CCPS is sharing the messages to promote the voice of our members and raise awareness of the true value of social care.

Mark Hoolahan @thistlecharity on why we need #MoreThanWarmWords@ScotGovFM @_KateForbes @neilcgray@MareeToddMSP@r_cackett
Delighted to meet with @neilcgray this morning. Joining the Cabinet Secretary and Key's CEO @andreawoodKey were people we support and staff from our North Lanarkshire service, some of whom live in Mr Gray's Airdrie and Shotts constituency.
People spoke about the importance of the relationships they have with their worker & how #SDS means using their individual budgets flexibly & creatively to lead the lives they choose. Mr Gray also listened carefully to people's worries about the challenges facing #SocialCare.
Whether you're going to get some time off over the festive period or not, we hope you will be able to take some time to look after yourself.
