Need some recommendations from my #golfchat people...looking for the best public courses in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and east central New York. My son's roommate is interning in Boston and trying to play the best public golf of all touching states to Massachusetts. Let's hear what ya got!?!?

Recently renovated by Tyler, Rae, Evanston golf club is a Donald Ross course I could play every day. I've played a lot of Ross courses that have greens that are too small and too severe. Evanston does a great job of blending Ross's original layout and bunkering, with expanded green complexes and subtle movement throughout. Had a great time with @PE_Dahl , and a phenomenal host on the chili May afternoon.

OK Golf Twitter, I need your opinions. Taking my boys to @Sand_Valley tomorrow and starting with a warm up round at the Sand Box before playing sedge valley. If one of us makes an Ace at the Sand Box (none of us currently have one)...does it count? #golfchat

Here's another stupid #Masters hypothetical. My 21 year old son plays to about a 9 index. He hits it a long way and is a streaky putter. If he played a 4 man scramble by himself in tourney conditions, crowds and all, would he win? I say no...he says he won't make a single bogey? Thoughts? And he will definitely be trying his hardest...any excuse to use my favorite meme! 😀

You all are giving me WAY too much credit for ball contact! 😂 Ended up with the TaylorMade QI max irons. Turns out spinning an 8 iron at close to 8500rpm isn't ideal, who knew! 😂 Also, if you're in the Chicagoland area, everyone in my family and almost everyone at our club gets fit by Addison at Golf Galaxy in Vernon hills. He is the literal rain man of club fitting. 5-10 swings in he puts a club in your hands and 9 out of 10 times that what you en up with. Annual long February weekend with the wife to see the sun! No golf, so I'm enjoying reading The Rating Game by Jonathan Cummings. He was gracious enough to host myself and my boys at Belleair in December...pretty cool getting to read a book where I know the author! He's a wealth of knowledge with over 1,000 courses under his belt. For those that have read his book, what are your thoughts? And what are your thoughts in general about golf course raters and the rating process?

Ended our Florida trip with a great day and great host at Belleair CC. I've always said I don't like Florida golf, turns out I was just playing the wrong courses! The west course is so good and so rich in history. The land movement and accompanying creek that winds through the property make for some really interesting holes, starting with #3. The cop mounds Ross used add to the challenge and the beauty. The holes pressed up on the water aren't just beautiful, but thoughtfully designed. Grateful I got to get my tail whipped by my two boys...great memories! If you get the invitation, make sure to jump on it. Can't wait to go back and play the East after the renovation is completed!
