Thank you #Dros21 co-organizers, GSA and MOST importantly the amazing world of Drosophila researchers — especially new flyologists and first timers — for contributing. As always, I leave awestruck and inspired. See you in San Diego to #FruitFlyTogether again at #Dros22
Thankful for talented past-current Kiger Lab members, including many undergrads. They made/make science happen while being good humans to share the unexpected paths. Thrilled to continue to #FruitFlyTogether with @JeanlabUdes, Naonobu Fujita, @InesMARibeiro (hire her!) #Dros21
Don’t miss discovering the many scientific gems and trailblazing scientists at the #Dros21 poster sessions Wednesday and Thursday! Preview Remo tips and YFP (your favorite posters) on the Dros21 website and app. See you at the tables! #FruitFlyTogether
With my kids in Balboa Park, my back yard in San Diego, for sunset and tacos tonight. Sorry could not include friends at #Dros21, but I look forward to #FruitFlyTogether with all back here for #Dros22. That will be tequila and tacos!
I’m also grateful for our ongoing friendship and shared scientific interests, Julie! The impressive crew from Minx Fuller’s Lab and Stanford DB shaped me - from lessons in fly genetics to being an upstanding scientist and part of a special community who still #FruitFlyTogether.
#FruitFlyTogether Thinking of inspiring fly friend, Katja Brückner (UCSF). Her sharp scientific mind, creativity and big smile are sorely absent at #Dros21 and to be missed in years to come. We were postdocs together @PerrimonLab. Thankful for shared memories & her support. 💔
Start your weekend off right!
More great talks and superhero scientists on deck at #Dros21 Plenary Session 4 on Saturday morning 11:00am EDT / 8:00am PDT.
And stay tuned to the program for more to follow.
