@mrtonylewisjr Found this flyer of our grandfather (President Albert Hinton) organizing a meeting in our family home on Hanover for community concerns and the Bus Boycott on Thu Jan 13, 1966.
He died the next month on February 2, 1966 🙏🏾

Given today’s announcement from President Biden, this part of our conversation with Councilmember @ZacharyforWard5 is timely. Messaging is so important when engaging new or apathetic voting blocks. Cultural taboos play a factor as well. For DC residents, the future of “home rule” being in jeopardy adds another layer.
