Sengun could have played better, BUT;
First, he didn't even take enough shots in this game to warrant any kind of harsh criticism.
Second, what exactly is the expectation for him? People want him to rebound, playmake, finish 1v1, and knock down threes-is he supposed to be a personal assistant and cater to every whim? What is everyone else even doing? You could put LeBron on this squad and he wouldn't pull out a single playoff win. What is Sengun supposed to do for a team shooting 16% from deep? He was the only advantage creator on the team playing on the court and they can't convert those. What is he supposed to do here?
Third, the coaching adjustments were non existent. JJ Redick actually puts his players in positions to succeed, whereas Udoka doesn't, especially when it comes to Sengun.
Fourth, you aren't winning many games if Reed is your primary PG, mainly because he isn't a true point guard. Zero guard/player to play PnR with him on this team except Fred.
I could go on for days, but no matter how much Sengun contributes, he's always the scapegoat for everyone else's mistakes. This narrative is never going to end. If Sengun wants to stop his PR from tanking even further, he needs to find a way out of this franchise this offseason. Keep grinding, Sengun and I truly believe you'll thrive on any team except this one.
