Very rough times for the people who thought they could bury him. Just delivered a win against the best team in the league and secured a well deserved All Star spot. The silence is loud. #NeverBetAgainstAlperenSengun

Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun has been named by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to replace injured Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on Team World for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game (Sunday, 2/15 on NBC & Peacock).

I'm just happy Sengun's name isn't even in the mix here. It means the "Free Sengun" era is finally happening. He's out of this dumpster fire for good. PLEASE ANYWHERE BUT HOUSTON 🙏🙏
Replying to @mshap2
Rafael Stone: “Tari, Jabari, Reed and Amen need to become better basketball players next season.” Says he expects they will be.

Normally, a GM would be fired for drafting nothing but role players in the lottery 4 YEARS in row, but of course, that's not happening here. Keep scapegoating 16th pick Sengun, you losers.

I love how Rockets is Sengun’s team when things go sideways, but everyone else’s when it goes well lol 😂 I’m glad this is over and I really hope he is free of this trash ass org and toxic fanbase next year 🙏🙏

Sengun could have played better, BUT; First, he didn't even take enough shots in this game to warrant any kind of harsh criticism. Second, what exactly is the expectation for him? People want him to rebound, playmake, finish 1v1, and knock down threes-is he supposed to be a personal assistant and cater to every whim? What is everyone else even doing? You could put LeBron on this squad and he wouldn't pull out a single playoff win. What is Sengun supposed to do for a team shooting 16% from deep? He was the only advantage creator on the team playing on the court and they can't convert those. What is he supposed to do here? Third, the coaching adjustments were non existent. JJ Redick actually puts his players in positions to succeed, whereas Udoka doesn't, especially when it comes to Sengun. Fourth, you aren't winning many games if Reed is your primary PG, mainly because he isn't a true point guard. Zero guard/player to play PnR with him on this team except Fred. I could go on for days, but no matter how much Sengun contributes, he's always the scapegoat for everyone else's mistakes. This narrative is never going to end. If Sengun wants to stop his PR from tanking even further, he needs to find a way out of this franchise this offseason. Keep grinding, Sengun and I truly believe you'll thrive on any team except this one.

Rockets 32% from the field, 16% from 3s... Sengun is the scapegoat as usual. I hope this is last game under this uniform.

IMO the key to this game for Rockets is all about how they manage the offense around Sengun: If Lakers decide to double him, we already know he's going to make the right read and pick them apart. The real test is if they throw delayed doubles, waiting until he's deep into his move to send help, to mess with his rhythm and force a late clock hesitation. Help Sengun by bringing off ball movement. But if LA leaves him on an island against Ayton, the spacing has to be elite. Rockets need to run a strict "Sengun in, 4 out" set to give him the runway to dominate the paint. Teammates cannot be sagging in or dragging their defenders into his lap, forcing him to bruise through a clogged lane and multiple layers of help defense just kills his efficiency. I think the outcome of this game hinges entirely on Rockets offensive discipline. Keep the floor balanced and let Sengun work.

I’ve got to give credit to Tari, he’s been the true X factor so far by doing exactly what’s been expected of him since the start of the season. When Tari plays within himself and stays inside his limitations, his impact on the game is undeniable. Once he gets aggressive on the defensive end, the offense just follows naturally.

Lol, trading everyone on the roster like this team hasn’t been playing their hearts out 😭😭 Who do these guys think they are? Like, who actually wants to play for Houston? 😂😂

KD being out of the lineup has been a blessing in disguise for the Rockets. If he were playing, Udoka would just default to KD isos all game, stalling the offense and taking the ball out of Sengun's hands. With KD sidelined, Udoka actually has to run things through Sengun, and it's working because Sengun makes everyone around him better, something a true leader does. Too bad this organization will go right back to their old habits the second KD returns.

Asked Marcus Smart post game about the doubles on Sengun who had 8 assists: "We forced him to make reads and he made the right reads...He's an All Star caliber type of player and really good at what he does..We got to go to the drawing board again and see what else we can do"

Alperen Sengun is the 2nd fastest center in playoff history to reach 250 PTS, 100 REB, & 50 AST. Only Nikola Jokic did it faster.
