Sometimes back, I got an opportunity to supply food to a certain financial institution. I was connected by one of the staff, and for several months, biashara ilikuwa inaenda vizuri. The income was good, and like any hustler in Nairobi, I started thinking about how to grow.
I came up with a plan, cook during the day, then drive Uber at night. You know Nairobi life , ni kujituma from all angles. The savings I had couldn’t get me a car, so I thought, why not approach the same institution for financing? After all, that’s one of the services they offer.
Out of excitement and maybe seeking guidance, I shared my idea with the same staff member who had connected me.
My people, the very next day, I received a call that my food supply services were no longer needed and to date the said staff has never talked to me nor order food from me,the way she used to order for family.
That experience taught me a powerful lesson, not everyone who smiles with you is meant to know your next move.
Sometimes, silence is strategy. Protect your ideas, nurture them quietly, and let your results make the noise.
Stay focused, stay wise, and keep pushing. Not every step needs an announcement. 💯
