🎉 Big news: I defended my PhD on January 13th, 2025! 🎓 and it was such a happy day! 🥰😍
This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without my incredible supervisor, supportive family, and soon-to-arrive baby cheering me on.
Here’s to 2025 – the year of new beginnings! 🌟
We just signed the contract with Routledge for the 2nd edition of our book on "Applied Spatial Statistics and Econometrics. Data Analysis in R". This is a huge project - it is 815 pages to refresh! But with @SpatialWarsaw team we will manage it! lnkd.in/d2k9rW7v
Check this out!! 😍 our new work is available now 🤩 is agglomeration happening in a void? No! It’s the people driving the business (it’s a causal mechanism!). We check this mechanism with a collection of methods, including a mediation model. A must read! 🤗
Our new paper: how economies of population density supplement the mechanism of agglomeration economies - a study on how population attracts firms to the place. We use spatial machine learning and a sample of 1 mln firms and 5.5 mln people!

@KubaraMaria, prof. @KathyKopczewska and @mhamd_usman with his first PhD thesis presentation 😎 great way to start an academic year 🤩
Last week I submitted my PhD thesis. According to our regulations I’m no longer a PhD student. Also, there are still a few months until I’ll get my PhD.
So who am I now? 😆 new identity crisis unlocked. Maybe that’s the time for being “PhD candidate” or PhD in spec?

Maybe it’s not Azores and my discussant doesn’t ask any meaningful questions (except: where are the treats??), but we’re doing the best we can 👌
Couldn’t come to #ERSA2024 due to personal reasons, but I’m there with all of you in spirit. Wishing you amazing conference! 🥳
I’m proud to announce that the book that I awaited for several years now… is printed out and ready to be reviewed 👌
There’s still a long way until #PhD defence, but the writing is completed now 🙌 now warming up for the next steps! #staytuned
✨To that little girl who always dreamt bigger ✨
I just put this dedication at the beginning of my PhD dissertation. In my mind’s eye I see myself from 10, 15, 20 years ago and I am so grateful to her for never stopping believing. Despite all odds
