When someone announces "I'm a Marxist" it's the economic equivalent of saying "I'm into astrology." You don't need to ignore everything they say, but it is a reliable heuristic showing that they're exceptionally susceptible to some really stupid ideas.

Board member Bert Ellis tries to discuss attacks on UVA's Jewish students at the Board of Visitors meeting today. He is told he is out of order and to stop talking by Rector Hardie and President Ryan who state that it will be addressed in “private session.” This is what passes for free speech, civil discourse, and open discussion of divergent viewpoints at UVA BOV meetings presided over by Rector Hardie and President Ryan.

We are appealing the 10th Circuit court decision which erred multiple times, both in applying copyright law, and in applying the rules of its own court. Not appealing would allow harmful precedent against Fair Use for all Americans to stand.

The Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, spread false information, saying that 25K Palestinian women and children have been killed in Gaza since October 7. Even the Hamas-controlled Gazan Ministry of Health, whose numbers are not reliable, makes no such claim. It says 30K Palestinians were killed, but it, as everyone knows, fails to distinguish between Hamas gunmen and civilians. According to the IDF, at least 12K gunmen have been killed since Oct. 7. That means that, using Gazan Ministry of Health numbers, 18K civilians have been killed. What percentage of those we can assume were women and children I do not know. This statement by Austin is very destructive. It is being used by the enemies of the United States to denigrate an American ally and the US itself. Our allies can expect better from us.

Kelly Wong who came to the U.S. in 2019 from China and isn’t legally allowed to vote will be overseeing and creating policy for the San Francisco Department of Elections. Wong is immigrant rights advocate who wants to educate other immigrants who don’t speak English about voting process. Imagine that people who don’t want to integrate by doing the least and learn the national language will be deciding on the future of an American city. Insanity.
