My first debut under my own persona, which just so happened to be on my 18th birthday too.
Had a few friends on, and I trusted one of my friendโs friends to behave, even though he was a rather chaotic kid who didnโt follow rules very well.
We were playing some shooters on Roblox, just some mini games I came up with. He broke every rule and laughed when we told him to stop.
Kinda ruined the whole thing for me. What was supposed to be my big day in more ways than one was mostly spent yelling at a selfish kid for breaking every rule I had in place.
โฆI didnโt forgive him for a while.
Unfortunately by the time I had almost done so, said friend had informed me he had died.
This situation taught me a few things. One is to be more careful with who I trust to stream with, vibe check before ya know?
And twoโฆ donโt get too worked up over it to the point of cutting someone off, because you might never get the chance to bring them back. Itโs a big deal in the Vtuber world to have your debut ruined, but in the grand scheme of things, it was nothing but vanity.
And I let one bad experience sully an entire relationship. And I will NEVER get the chance to say Iโm sorry for doing so.
So now, I vibe check before streaming with someone. And I donโt let one bad experience lead me to cutting someone off, no matter how important it was.
Iโm not losing anyone else. Iโve lost enough.
Do you guys have any bad collab experiences?
My worst one was a couple years ago with a VTuber. We were supposed to play Valorant together, but something came up on their end. They canceled less than an hour before we were scheduled to go live. I get that emergencies happen, so I reached out to rescheduleโฆ and got completely ghosted. A short while later, they even unfollowed me.
We had similar-sized audiences, so it wasnโt like I was a nobody to them. I was just left hanging with nothing. I hope they were okay, but it definitely left a sour taste in my mouth.
