Everyone at the Aston Villa Foundation is saddened to hear about the passing of Benjamin Zephaniah.
Through his writing, Benjamin was an inspirational figure to many, working closely with our young people as our ambassador.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time. 💜

Everyone at Aston Villa is deeply saddened by news of the passing of legendary writer and poet, Benjamin Zephaniah.
Named as one of Britain's top 50 post-war writers in 2008, Benjamin was a lifelong Aston Villa fan and had served as an ambassador for the @AVFCFoundation.
The thoughts and condolences of all at the club are with his family and friends at this time.

Steel Pulse is a British Roots Reggae band formed in Handsworth, Birmingham, in 1975.
They were the FIRST non-Jamaican act (band members born in UK to Jamaican parents🇯🇲) to win the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album.

My friend passed away suddenly while on holiday in Jamaica. Her mother is trying to find money to bring her body back home as it's quite expensive. She hasn't been able to reach the target and has made the decision to keep the body in Jamaica due to the cost.

Years ago I had a dream that I could be a filmmaker. Many said it wasn’t possible & I should get a proper job. It was a fair point as I was broke & clueless. Yrs later, following my dream has taken me from struggling to afford a meal to being in a position to buy my first house.
