The AURIGA (ArmoURed Infantry Ground Assault) project, an initiative for the development of the next-generation infantry vehicle, officially kicks off. The project, run by the consortium of the same name led by Leonardo, includes 48 companies from 18 European countries. The initiative is now in the phase of studying new enabling technologies, through the collection of operational requirements from all the Ministries of Defence involved and the identification of capability needs. The 36-month project is among the projects co-founded by the European Defence Fund (#EDF), which has allocated €25 million to it.

Leonardo has unveiled Guardian Vantage, a new land-based Electronic Warfare (EW) and Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) capability which detects, recognises, identifies and locates enemy emissions on the battlefield. The system is designed for use on land vehicle and ships, or for mounting onto shelters. Launched at AOC Europe 2026, Guardian Vantage provides real time battlefield intelligence on emitting enemy systems such as radars, uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) and communications. This information can then be exploited by friendly forces for surveillance and target acquisition, to ultimately understand who the enemy is, where they are and what they are doing.
