Jour 2 : Dans les coulisses de l’innovation ! Samedi, 9h00 du matin. Toutes les équipes avaient passé la nuit sur place. Café en main, yeux fatigués mais déterminés, elles ont repris le travail. Le jour 2 était lancé. C’était le jour le plus important du hackathon, le jour où les promesses se transformaient en démos, le jour où tout pouvait basculer. Et nos quinze équipes l’ont parfaitement compris. Tout au long de ce samedi intense, nous avons vu : Des moments de frustration → un bug qui refusait de disparaître, une API aux abonnés absents, une fonctionnalité qui ne marchait pas comme prévu. Des moments de collaboration → un développeur d’une équipe qui aidait celui d’une autre à débloquer un problème technique. L’esprit communautaire avant la compétition. Des moments d’eureka → quand enfin le code s’exécutait, quand le prototype faisait exactement ce qu’il devait faire. Ces explosions de joie pure. Entre santé, éducation, agriculture et finance, chaque équipe a construit quelque chose de concret. Quelque chose qui peut changer des vies. Quelque chose de 100% haïtien. Ce weekend, nous avons lancé le tout premier Hackathon IA en Haïti. Quinze équipes se sont réunies vendredi pour 48 heures de création intensive autour de six thèmes concrets : l'IA au service du bien-être humain, la puissance de l'IA générative, l'IA dans l'éducation, l'IA pour l'art et les médias créatifs, l'IA pour des solutions communautaires, et l'innovation ouverte pour l'avenir d'Haïti. Leur mission : passer de l'idée au déploiement, et construire des solutions d'Intelligence Artificielle fonctionnelles, adaptées à notre réalité et capables d'avoir un impact sur des milliers d'Haïtiens. Depuis vendredi soir, l'espace de travail est animé d'une énergie palpable : accueil chaleureux, installation des stations de travail, sessions de brainstorming, lignes de code qui défilent, échanges avec les mentors… Tout est réuni pour permettre aux participants d'apprendre, d'expérimenter et de collaborer dans les meilleures conditions. Ce hackathon n'est pas seulement une compétition. C'est avant tout un espace pour bâtir une communauté tech solide, donner confiance aux jeunes talents haïtiens, et démontrer concrètement que nous pouvons créer des solutions innovantes ici même, en Haïti. Après ces 48 heures de sprint intensif, les équipes présenteront cet après-midi leurs projets devant le jury. Innovation, fonctionnalité et présentation seront les critères décisifs. Building Towards the Hackathon: A Month of Preparation The hackathon starts this Friday. But for forty-five developers across fifteen teams, the real work began a month ago. We knew from the start that a 48-hour event wouldn't be enough. You can't expect people to build sophisticated AI applications in 48 hours if they're also learning the fundamentals during that same window. So we made a decision: invest heavily in preparation, then let the hackathon be pure execution. This is the story of what we built in the four weeks leading up to November 28th. 12 years writing code and one thing never changes: I write 200 lines of code in less than an hour, and get stuck on one line of code for 30 minutes trying to find a bug. It's annoying, it's painful, but it's also part of the job. Don't beat yourself up. You're doing great.
