Did you know…there’s a blooper in OUT OF THE PAST? Take a look at the sign in the righthand screen shot. Someone forgot to change out the real-life Ann’s Grill sign for the movie’s Marny’s Cafe sign in this shot! #Highway395 #Bridgeport #OutOfThePast
From OUT OF THE PAST (1947) - Marny’s Cafe in the film was Ann’s Grill in reality. The building has been Ken’s Sporting Goods for decades. The window is still 2-paned just like in the movie! #Bridgeport #Highway395

Gene Hackman’s Oscar win for The French Connection makes me think of two other roles of his that deserved awards: The Conversation and Night Moves (out today, 1975). His PI Harry Moseby, cynical but clear-eyed, is one of his finest performances; the ending is a cruel gut punch.

BTS footage of Siskel & Ebert recording a tv spot for an upcoming episode 😂 The petty annoyance between these two is really what made them so special

Every line talking about the attack on Yavin itself was dubbed over. You dont actually see anyone talking about it.

Why Westerns Still Matter: Jason Bailey has a great look at the @MoMAFilm "Universal Westerns" series that's just getting warmed up. 28 films, most screening twice, through July 3 so you have time and choice. (Gift Link) nytimes.com/2026/06/05/movie…

A most happy 90th birthday wish to the great Bruce Dern, who has royally entertained us all with truly unforgettable performances for so many decades; lets be thankful that this living legend is still with us in a career that runs from Hitchcock to Tarantino.

Young people wonder why Boomers and GenXers are tired all the time. Well, for one, we walked like an Egyptian, moon walked, walked this way, walked on the wild side, walked on sunshine, walked the line, and walked 500 miles. We walked. A lot. ~ J. Lloyd
