Cutter Boley isn’t fazed by pressure. That’s why Kenny Dillingham wanted him at ASU 🔱

Rules for thee, not for me
Friendly reminder, he himself voted to rescind the NCAA policy change last year that would have allowed athletes to legally bet on pro sports.

Tech put out a letter to their community at the same time as this video arguing that Sorsby should play due to the "extenuating circumstances of the case" What extenuating circumstances, Dr. Schovanec? You certainly don't list them
A message to the Texas Tech community from our leadership.

As my mom always asked, "Just because your friends are jumping off the cliff, would you?"
Texas Tech Pres. Lawrence Schovanec, on NCAA gambling rules (Brendan Sorsby) “I think we have to recognize the rules in place now we’re made long before there were millions of young people walking around with a legal gambling apparatus in their pocket” Sorsby bet on Indiana football, basketball and Cincinnati hoops…

Players Union, Collective Bargaining Agreement, and a Comissioning of CFB?
I’m just sitting here wondering how this gets resolved in the end

Well deserved
COLLEGE PLAYER OF THE YEAR 🏆 After a remarkable sophomore season, @ASU_Baseball star Landon Hairston takes home the 2026 award. Hairston hit .400/.509/.860 with a program-record 28 home runs, one of the most dominant seasons by a leadoff hitter ever.

A super majority of the Big 12 directors (schools) already have almost unlimited discretion to sanction Texas Tech. What’s more, they also have the authority to amend the Big 12 Bylaws at any time to specifically require the immediate suspension or dismissal of any school which knowingly plays an athlete who has admitted to placing bets on his own team.
I'm told Texas Tech would consider legal action if athletic programs and/or conferences try to exclude them from competition or hinder their scheduling.

If a person has to be present tense playing for your program to receive any support, help, or advice from the people in it that’s a bad thing, actually They should support him. They should not play him. Suiting up and being supported do not have to go together
I don't get it. God forbid if my child does something stupid at 18, I hope she gets the support that Texas Tech is providing Brendan Sorsby. I get it, the dude made a massive mistake. Is pulling him away from the support system that can help him really the best option?

Nope. Still the cardinal sin in all of sports
NEW: Cody Campbell on schools trying to boycott playing Texas Tech: “If this had happened at LSU, people would say ahhh it's LSU. But it happened at Texas Tech… people don’t want to compete with us 😳

No one's saying Sorsby shouldn't get the treatment he needs, or should be ostracized from his community, or should be expelled from Texas Tech. The support he's getting from Tech is admirable That being said, he has no business anywhere near a football field this fall
Texas Tech AD Kirby Hocutt releases a statement re: Brendan Sorsby lawsuit. "Texas Tech is not a party to Brendan's lawsuit. We did not file it. We did not fund it." on3.com/news/texas-tech-ad-k…

Every Big 12 AD but Texas Tech's Kirby Hocutt believes Brendan Sorsby shouldn't play. That was communicated today on the call There are plenty of ideas to convince/pressure Tech to cut Sorsby loose, but Ads believe it's common sense: He bet on his sport; Tech shouldn't play him

As a veteran Texas litigator who has fought my fair share of TRO/TI battles, several things to be aware of regarding the temporary injunction order issued to allow Brendan Sorsby to play for Texas Tech this season: (1) The temporary injunction obtained by Sorsby is valid through the date of trial. So by setting the trial date for after the college football season ends the Lubbock County state district court effectively awards Sorsby ultimate relief; he can play the full season under the TI, excluding only the first two games carved out in the text of the TI order. (2) In Texas a TI is subject to immediate (“interlocutory”) appeal. The appeal will go to the 7th Court of Appeals in Amarillo, Texas. (3) The problem with the appeal is that even an accelerated appeal of the TI order is likely to take at least 9 to 12 months, meaning the college football season will be long over before the Amarillo Court of Appeals affirms or vacates the TI. (4) The only way the interlocutory appeal of the TI order gets resolved before the college football season ends is if the Amarillo Court of Appeals orders expedited briefings and decides the appeal “on the papers” without oral argument. But even such an expedited appeal is likely to run well into the college football season. (5) At bottom, as Diego Pavia and now Brendan Sorsby illustrate, these sort of emergency injunctive proceedings are a huge problem for the NCAA: hometown judges (in Texas elected at the county level) err on the side of granting the TI to allow the key player to play for Hometown U, and the college football season is much shorter than the appellate process. So the preliminary ruling on the emergency injunction effectively decides the entire case and, if granted, allows the player to play a full season.
NEWS: A judge in district court in Lubbock County, Texas, has granted the injunction requested by Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby. He’s set to be eligible for the 2026 season.

Big 12 ADs tell @YahooSports they’ve had “serious” talks on not playing Texas Tech. One SEC AD says there should be conversations about not playing Tech “in any sports.” The Brendan Sorsby ruling has left an industry jarred. “It’s total f***** bullshit.” bit.ly/4uWicN7

Welp, not quite sure why its worth watching college football if players can bet on their own teams and walk away with a slap on the wrist....

If ASU goes on to the Super Regional, Colby Guy is going to be one of the biggest reasons why. 6 innings of 1 run ball when we needed it most is massive
