Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance, an annual observance that honours the memory of transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence. We are committed to ensuring Leeds Teaching Hospitals is a safe environment for people to be who they are, patients and staff.
Thank you to everyone who came to the moving candlelight vigil at Leeds General Infirmary this evening, where we held a two-minute silence and lit candles in memory of people no longer with us. We heard from speakers from various organisations, including Trans Leeds, who are committed to supporting our trans and non-binary communities.
We also lit up Jubilee Wing to mark the day, as pictured here.
