This article makes the most important point last: "They are a public good operated by a private-sector company that, under investor pressure, has rapidly lost interest." We need to stop expecting moving people to be profitable and hand it back to public agencies where it belongs.

An encampment community has formed at Lamport Stadium again.
This happened in spite of 2021's violent, militarized evictions, and the City's round-the-clock surveillance of parks. This development, and the City's response to it, shows just how little has changed since then.
