Very excited to share the work of Kristen Berendzen and Ruchira Sharma and our collaborators in the @BalesLab and @Shah_Laboratory Strikingly, we find the oxytocin receptor is NOT required for partner preference or parenting behaviors in prairie voles.

Their work really shows the power of genetics and that the brain can be wired for bonding during development without OxtR function even when acute disruptions of the pathway in adults dramatically interferes with it.
