We asked early career scientists what they need: funding access, grant writing support, and mentorship. @theNCI listened. We're launching a trans-institute training initiative to deliver exactly that. Learn more. cancer.gov/grants-training/n…

#GI26 Our study underscores differing patient & physician perspectives on treatment trade-offs in 3L mCRC, particularly around #QOL and toxicity. Collaborative effort w/ @TakedaOncology #patientadvocate @cagirlinchi @colontown @Colorectalman @coloncanada @thermofisher
Colorectal cancer research at #ASCOGI26: Patients are more willing than physicians to trade some survival for better quality of life—like oral-only treatment or fewer side effects. Poster by @DanaFarber’s @ThejusJay. asco.org/abstracts-presentat…

We have already started using Cytotrace2. Great framework and tool when thinking about stem-like states and plasticity across cancers!
This is truly the perfect time to implement technology like this. We can accurately and swiftly annotate single cells based on their developmental potential with applications across biology and medicine. Excited to see this move ahead!

Also excited to see the study in print. In addition to the findings, this work embodies complementary and generous science. Jun allowed us to screen his well-curated library of epigenetic degrades/inhibitors without batting an eye. We repaid him by asking him to do more…

It is so exciting to see the final version of our collaborative work with @LabSethi. We found that blocking HDAC1/2 pushes CRC cells out of a stem-like state and into differentiation. We will work tother more to find novel therapeutic options for CRC. authors.elsevier.com/c/1m7oK…

Can we have a biotinylated and inactive version of the HDAC1/2 inhibitor? How do you do Chem-seq, Jun? In the end, we were able to follow our observations and publish these findings thanks to collaborative science fostered by @DanaFarber @DanaFarberNews

Pornlada, Zhixin, and Paul led the way, thanks to their persistence and hard work. Thank @JamesClearyMD for the invaluable feedback, advice, and guidance throughout. Looking forward to the next set of therapeutics you help us find and investigate.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT📣: I haven’t been this excited to be part of something new in 15 years… Thrilled to reveal the passion project I’ve been working on for the past year and a half!🙀🥳 It started from my frustration with the depressing effect that the current publishing system has on the well-being of myself, my team, and pretty much every scientist I know (maybe you’ve noticed from my stupid jokes… :) I was exhausted of dealing with the huge delays, reviewers that can be abusive, and how arbitrary it all is. Unfortunately, the most important factors are often WHO your reviewers are and who YOU are... It’s clear we need alternatives or at least ways to improve the situation. So, together with a really special and talented team we worked to develop this idea into “qed” a platform where you can get CONSTRUCTIVE feedback on your own work or CRITICALLY assess other people’s papers. It can be a real difference maker if many of you join us (thousands have tried it already, but today we release a NEW and much stronger version ;) Let’s harness qed to put the power back in the scientists’ hands, to do, to read & to publish science on our own terms. I’m dying for you to TRY IT, and it’s very simple - just drop a paper (the link to the website is in the replies👇) - it’s completely secure, private, and free, and you get results fast. Please show your support, SHARE, tell your friends, and let’s be the revolution 🫵!

Congratulations to this year’s Nobel Laureates. As we celebrate their seminal discoveries, I hope we also take a moment to recognize the transformative contributions of Sasha Rudensky, an equally deserving scientist, the “fourth laureate”, if you will. #4thlaureate
BREAKING NEWS The 2025 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to Mary E. Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell and Shimon Sakaguchi “for their discoveries concerning peripheral immune tolerance.”
