An excellent discussion as always with @JoannaColes on the Daily Beast podcast, covering the recently updated paperback of ‘Entitled’ and the reforms that are necessary to bring the monarchy into the 21st century. youtu.be/3khm1kob58Y?is=W_dX…

Ridiculous. There is a lot more to do online than use social media. Try going on some educational websites 🙄
Social media is our only escape from our unsafe area’ Isil, Ivory and Sinenna from Oasis Academy in Enfield speak to Krishnan Guru-Murthy about social media and how they think a ban on under-16s using it will affect their age group.

Anyone against the social media ban on kids is simply a bad parent. Why have kids if they are going to be online all day and you end up ignoring each other. Spend time with your children, talk to your children. This should not be controversial.

Why are people fighting for kids to stay addicted and glued to screens - very weird….. Most of us millennials didn’t grow up on screens and our childhood was amazing.

Far too many parents seem to want to be their child's friend. That's not the job. The job is to educate, guide and protect until they are old enough to make their own decisions, hopefully based on sound values you have taught them. No parent can really do that if they are up against the combined might of the social media giants, the porn industry and big tech. #analogueresitance

Banning social media for kids is a start, but it’s complicated and doesn’t go far enough. Much simpler would be to just restrict smartphone use to the over-16s. That way kids can grow up without the adult world, with all its depravity, being funneled directly into their brains via online porn and - yes - social media. They can phone their friends/parents/school on a bog standard brick phone and access the internet (when they need to) in a supervised environment. If none of them are allowed smartphones, then it becomes so much easier for parents and teachers to safeguard. Most responsible parents manage to hold off until secondary school (11-plus) but once they get there it’s almost impossible to exercise restrictions because to do so makes your child a pariah. So just simpler not to have them in the first place. That’s what all the most successful heads do - they just don’t allow the things in school.

mol.im/a/15894681 The details of this case are repulsive. That poor child never stood a chance. His mother was a convicted killer, and then he was adopted by a pair of perverts. The people were supposed to protect him handed him to monsters. There needs to be an inquiry.

This disgusting vulture, disgusting creature adopted a child with his partner, a 13 month old boy and they both sexually assaulted him and killed him. They should be both shredded to pieces with the whole world spitting on them my god.

Anyone who doesn't support the banning of social media to children isn't serious. SM are harming children, their mental health. Their emotional stability, their peace of mind. Stealing them of their childhood. Children need to rest their minds, their thoughts, to run outside, to play. This should have happened much earlier.

Can’t wait to read @M_Steeples assessment of this! 😳😬 Another one to add to your sh*tlist!
EXCLUSIVE: A multi-millionaire banker descended from royalty has been arrested by police hunting the 'Putney Pusher', the Daily Mail can exclusively reveal. The suspect was detained today at his £1.4million home in west London. A director at a private bank, he is a decorated former British Army officer who served in several major conflicts. His arrest comes nearly ten years after a jogger shoved a female pedestrian into the path of a double-decker bus on Putney Bridge.

One of his better ideas
We are banning social media access for under 16s. These days kids must find their feet in a world where technology intrudes into every area of their life. I just can’t let that go on anymore. So we’re giving children their childhoods back.
Community note
The UK Government's 'careful review' of the research found a small correlation between children's use of social media and wellbeing, but no evidence of a causal effect: gov.uk/government/pub… assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/696e0b46…
